In July, we found out Insights was named one of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) BEST winners, in recognition of our internal employee development programmes, including My Insights, My Journey, Starting Blocks and more.
Last week, representatives from the Learning Experience and Comms Team attended the ATD Learn from the BEST conference in Washington DC to accept the award and share our best practices with other training and talent development practitioners.
After a full-day of sessions, the conference concluded with an awards ceremony where all 36 ATD BEST award-winning organisations were presented with trophies and each organisation's ranking was announced.
Global Learning Innovation Strategist Doug Upchurch represented the People Team at the conference and delivered a presentation titled "How your people's personal breakthroughs enable your organization's business breakthroughs".
Doug said: "I am honoured to represent my amazing People Team 'frolleagues' (short for friends + colleagues) and the amazing work they have done to create a place where everyone in their own way can say 'I love my job and I love this company'."
Now in its 16th year, ATD describes the BEST Awards as "the talent development industry's most rigorous and coveted recognition."
ATD President and CEO Tony Bingham said: "Creating innovative, vibrant learning cultures and developing talent in ways that clearly contribute to strategic business goals, are hallmarks of ATD BEST winners."
To qualify, every organisation submitted quantitative and qualitative information to ATD about their talent development practices. Then, applications were assessed in a blind review by an L&D expert advisory committee.
Customer Experience Group Director Lynne-Marie Howden said: "It has always been our goal to have a sort of inside-out approach to our work. When what we do for ourselves is just as good (or even better) than what we do for our clients, we are proving that we practice what we preach."
Senior Communications Editor Virginia Fraser said: "The Comms Team is honoured to be able partner cross-functionally to architect new external recognition opportunitities for the organisation, as a part of our growing awards strategy work."
